Women Serving Christ

berries.jpgLet us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up; Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers. Galatians 6:9-10

Women Serving Christ is a group of Christian women in Omaha, NE. Every woman who is a member of Living Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, is automatically a member of Women Serving Christ and participates as she is able.

Women Serving Christ is dedicated to the service of others, and we have a “heart for Missions”. We are members of the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS), and are part of the Nebraska-Iowa Circuit. Since 1958, women of WELS congregations in the Midwest have gathered together for regional mission rallies. In 1964, those women formally organized as the Lutheran Women’s Missionary Society (LWMS). The 256 attendees adopted a constitution and mission statement that read “to increase interest in and to support mission endeavors which are a part of or in the interest of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod” (WELS). Their current membership stands at over 900 congregations across the United States, Canada, and Antigua.

Women Serving Christ is also involved in many of the activities connected with Living Hope and Our Precious Lambs. Our meetings are usually held on the third Thursday of the month. There’s always something going on, so come to a meeting, scan through our website or chat with someone at church to find out how you, too, can “serve Christ” at Living Hope!
